Want to get involved in NA Service?

The Area Service Committee (ASC) is a group of trusted servants that meets monthly with the express purpose of fulfilling the specific needs of NA groups in the Rogue Redwood area. The ASC is comprised of three types of service positions: The Administrative Committee, the Sub-Committee Chairpersons, and the Group Service Representatives (GSRs). (For more information about GSRs, please refer to I.P. #2, “The Group.”) The ASC promotes unity through the free expression of ideas and mutual aide. The Area Service Committee meets at 5:00PM on the fourth Sunday of each month at Pythian Hall , 2301 Upper River Rd. Loop, Grants Pass. Any member of the NA community is invited to attend the monthly ASC meeting. For more information, please send an e-mail to admin@sosascna.com

Recovery in N.A. is more than life without drugs. The Activities sub-committee organizes a variety of functions in which addicts can find fun and fellowship with others in recovery. Activities provides a popular introduction into N.A. service as there are many things that can be done which require little clean time. Speaker meetings/dances, picnics, karioke nights, rafting trips and Unity Day are just some of the activities organized by the Activities sub-committee. The Activities sub-committee meets the third Thursday of the month at 6:00 PM at Pizza Hut , 1465 NE 6th St, Grants Pass. For more information, please send an e-mail to
activities@sosascna.com.

N.A's primary purpose is to carry the message of recovery. The purpose of the Public Information sub-committee is to ensure that clear and accurate information about N.A. is available to the public. This helps ensure an accurate perspective of recovery in N.A. and avoids self-promotion and personal grandiosity. Involvement in P.I. provides an excellent opportunity to learn our principles and help extend awareness of our fellowship. Carrying the message insures the growth of our members and the health of our fellowship. P.I. meets on the fourth Sunday of each month at 2:00 PM at Pythian Hall , 2301 Upper River Rd. Loop, Grants Pass. For more information, please send an e-mail to
publicinfo@sosascna.com.

The Public Information Subcommittee is also responsible for the area's phoneline, which provides an opportunity for one addict to help another addict on a personal, one-to-one basis. By maintaining a 24-hour-a-day phone service, Narcotics Anonymous is always available to those in need. This service connects the experience, strength and hope of the fellowship with the still suffering addict. The phoneline also provides meeting times and locations. Addicts are always needed to be available on the other end of the phone when someone reaches out. For more information, please send an e-mail to
publicinfo@sosascna.com.

The Hospitals and Institutions sub-committee carries the message of recovery to addicts who might not be able to attend regular meetings. Some places H&I takes meetings include hospitals, detox centers and jails. Encountering addicts in these settings can help provide a more realistic perspective, keeping our memory "green," and intensifying our gratitude. Sharing through H&I is a direct, personal form of service which reinforces both our commitment and our understanding of the program. H&I meets in conjunction with Public Information at 2:00 PM on the fourth Sunday of each month at Pythian Hall , 2301 Upper River Rd. Loop, Grants Pass. For more information, please send an e-mail to h_and i@sosascna.com.
